Could you help if there was an emergency here?
Graffham Parish Council is creating a new resilience plan as one of the actions in the Village Plan adopted earlier this year – and is looking for your help.

The aim is to ensure the community is as well placed as possible in the event of emergencies such as fires, floods or power cuts, when the parish council is the designated first responder before emergency services arrive.
Chairman Gillian Charlesworth said: “We are looking for contributions from residents – so if you have expertise, knowledge or ideas or would be prepared to assist in the event of an emergency, by contributing vehicles, equipment, accommodation or skills and elbow grease, please let us know. The wildfires some poor people in our country have faced this summer and flooding others experienced in the winter highlight the need to be as prepared as we can be. It’s part of our role to ensure Graffham is as prepared as it can be should the worst come to the worst.”
Skills that might be particularly helpful in an emergency include medical, caring, plumbing, electrical, general building/DIY, logistics, catering or just plain manpower. Items that could be needed include chainsaws, power and other tools, generators, tractors and other four-by-four vehicles.
