Allotment provision no longer on the agenda

Providing allotments in the village is no longer on Graffham Parish Council’s agenda after two of the six residents who asked it to do so advised that they no longer wanted one, as their neighbour had offered them use of part of their garden to tend.

A parish council is obliged to look into the provision of allotments if six residents ask it to do so.

Chairman Gillian Charlesworth contacted the half dozen who had lobbied it late last year for allotments to give them an update on its progress and asking for their thoughts on establishing a community orchard and/or garden.  Only three responded – including the two who said they were no longer interested in an allotment.
