Sports

There's no excuse for being a couch potato in Graffham, with lots of sports clubs within the village and opportunities to play an even wider range nearby. Run through the links below to find out more.

Croquet:  There are two clubs within just a couple of miles of Graffham.

Football:  Although the village’s soccer club is long dormant, there’s an occasional, impromptu kickabout on the Rec.

Badminton: Most Wednesday evenings in the Empire Hall.

Bowls:  Graffham has its own lawn and pavilion with the club welcoming all newcomers.

Cricket:  While the men struggle to field a team, the ladies practice regularly and play occasional club matches.

Golf:  Plenty of courses locally.

Horseriding, racing, polo:  There are close on as many horses as humans in Graffham, with racing just over the Downs at Goodwood and polo played within the parish at Ambersham and nearby at Midhurst’s Cowdray.

Keep fit, Pilates, yoga:  Weekly sessions at the Empire Hall, Westerlands and other local venues.

Tennis:  One of the village’s most active clubs, with two hard year-round courts.

Pickleball:  Weekly generally in the winter and occasionally in the summer.

Sailing, flying, motorsport:  Chichester Harbour is a short drive away, as are Goodwood’s aerodrome and motor racing circuit.
